In a case treated as homicide, police are searching for a gunman who murdered Bettie Jenifer, by a gunshot to the head, after firing numerous shots, in the parking lot of her Maryland office premises on Friday, 10 May 2019.
She had left the office at about 5pm, located at 6301 Ivy Lane, Greenbelt towards her car, when the armed man approached her, the Greenbelt police reports.
She tried running to safety but instead of running back into her office building, she ran towards her car and through the parking lot as the shots intensified. The man followed her till he was certain, she received a shot. Afterwhich he fled the scene in a vehicle. This happened in plain sight of many others. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The killer was described as black and having a thin build with black hair. He was wearing dark clothing and seemed to flee in a blue car.
She was a staff at Express Employment professionals, a temporary employment agency.
The victim was later identified as forty-four years old, Bettie Jenifer, Chris Attoh's new wife who he wed last year October.

At the time of the tragic incidence, Chris Attoh was reportedly in Los Angeles shooting a new movie, but has since gone to Maryland after the news broke out.
