Homa Bay governor, Cyprian Awiti has put his deputy, Mr. Hamilton Orata, in charge of his official duties to enable him seek medical attention.
The statesman has been battling with partial blindness coupled by diabetes, and is said to have undergone eye surgery in Germany.
His deputy, Orata, has been representing him in several functions for sometime now.
It has been a tough time for ailing Mr. Awiti as he is under criticism from some of Homa Bay leaders who accuse him of run away corruption.
