According to TMZ, sources familiar with Jussie's current predicament tells the media house that things have been really dry for the actor as he was living a sufficient Hollywood life before claiming he was viciously attacked in Chicago. He was getting entertainment biz offers every other week, if not weekly.
They were exclusively told Jussie Smollett's favours actually skyrocketed right after the alleged attack was initially reported. He was getting hit up nonstop for movies, TV gigs, commercials, interviews and appearances.
When his story was debunked, arrested and he was charged with a felony for filing a false police report, the money well ran dry. He is currently getting zero calls for new work and is being treated like a pariah.
"Empire" the series also removed Jussie's character from the final 2 episodes of the season in order to keep peace on set as some of his co-stars are butting heads over whether to support him.
