Recipe: How To Make Oat Meal Swallow And Benefits Of Oatmeal

Oat meal swallow: Asides having oats as porridge for breakfast you can make oats into a swallow to eat soups as you would with your other staple swallows such as corn meal (mealie pap), pounded yam, eba, fufu, amala, banku, rice meal (tuwo) and many others across continents.

Oats are not just delicious, they are packed with loads of nutrients too. They are among the healthiest gluten-free grains on earth.
Some of the benefits include, but are not limited to:
1)They are a good source of carbs and fibre; powerful fiber Beta-glucan. Fibres are very good treatments for, and prevents constipation.

2)They are a good source of minerals such as Manganese, Phosphorus, Copper, Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin B1, B3 B5, B6, Folate, Iron.

3)They have the ability to lower cholesterol levels which plays an important role against heart diseases.

4)Oats are rich in antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds called polyphenols (Avenanthramides).

5)Oats can be grinded and mixed with a liquid soap. When applied topically are good skin exfoliants. Soaking oat in sterile water and using the water on skin is good skin treatment.

6)Oats can be very filling thereby reducing the frequency of food intake which inturn aids weight loss.

It is no doubt that we all would need to incorporate oats into our diets.

- Blend oats with water
- Pour in a pot
- Place pot on ignited stove
- Stir with a spatula
- Serve and enjoy with your favourite soup.
