Healthy breakfast recipe: Banana porridge

 



Very simple yet, healthy and delicious breakfast made with unripe bananas. If you want yours a bit sweeter, use a mix of unripe & semi-ripened bananas; adding one or two ripe bananas to the mix also goes. The ripened the bananas, the sweeter. Unripe bananas are a must as a majority used, to achieve the desired texture for this recipe. This is a wholesome family meal.



Method

■ Thoroughly wash bananas with skin on to remove dirt.

■ Peel off banana peels and slice in bits.

■ Add diced bananas to a blender. Add water enough to make a fluid blend.

■ Transfer to a pot and cook on low heat. Stir as it cooks and add water till you have a porridge consistency.


■ Serve as desired with sweetener, milk, nuts & fruits or without. You can make your own homemade healthy sweetener from dates. Sweeteners made from dates complement this dish perfectly. Recipe HERE
