Mango Lassi || Mango milkshake || Refreshing summer drinks

 

Mango Lassi can be classified as a rich, yet healthy mango smoothie. Creamy, delicious, satisfying shake. A classic at Indian restaurants. Very easy to make and enjoy at home.

The recipe I will be sharing serves two. You can adjust according to the quantity you want served.

You can also adjust the liquids according to how thick you want yours. I prefer mine on the thicker side.

In this recipe, I will use:

●500 ml cup of ripe mangoes

●70 ml cup of curd or plain yoghurt

●70 ml cup of milk (Preferably cow milk or coconut milk) 

Adjust liquids to your preferred consistency.

●Honey or preferred sweetener

●½ teaspoon of cardamon powder.

●Few ice cubes - optional

Add all the above ingredients into a blender, crush, and transform to a smoothie. A recipe video is attached at the bottom.

Serve in a glass. You can top with cream and nuts, but it is optional to do so. Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder with some black pepper is a good addition in the blending process. This makes it even more beneficial to the body.

This is a satisfyingly healthy drink, able to take away your cravings for very sugary, carbonated drinks.

●Mangoes are packed with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, potassium, B vitamins, copper, iron, vitamin E, vitamin K.

Making Mango Lassi is an excellent way of enjoying this hydrating, anti-aging, antioxidant packed, immune boosting fruit.

●Cow milk is a good source of calcium for strengthened bones and teeth. Calcium aids tissue repair.

A tasty alternative as coconut milk contributes to strong, healthy bones. Relaxes muscles and nerves. Good for arthritis management. Helps in maintaining a healthy immune system.

●Curd improves digestion. Improves bone health. Promotes a healthy heart. Great for a healthy vagina. Promotes beautiful skin.

Similar to the nutritional benefits of curd, yoghurt lowers the risk of high blood pressure and cholesterol. Offers bone health. Promotes healthy gut.

The difference between curd and yoghurt is the making process. Curd is obtained by coagulating milk; adding an edible acidic substance such as lemon juice or vinegar. 

Yoghurt is derived by fermenting milk with good, healthy bacteria.

●Honey prevents, and is a remedy for ulcers. Good for skin, promoting beautiful skin. Boosts energy. Honey is an antioxidant. 

●Cardamon, also called cardamom improves digestive health. Freshens breath. Aids in improving blood circulation. Improves kidney health.

Mango Lassi is truly a refreshing drink.
